Selfreliance Foundation receives 2024 Herb Wegner award
The Selfreliance Foundation was honored with the 2024 Herb Wegner Award in Washington, DC, on March 4th, 2024. We are thrilled to announce this accolade.
The Herb Wegner Award is considered the highest distinction in the credit union sector, recognizing institutions and initiatives that have demonstrated tangible enhancements to the local, national, or international credit union system.
In our case, the application for this esteemed award was centered around the Foundation's unwavering efforts to support Ukraine. In 2023, a total of $888,700 was allocated by the Selfreliance Foundation to support institutions vital to Ukrainian-Americans. This funding has enabled the Ukrainian Diaspora Community to thrive and withstand some of the most challenging times in recent memory, and to extend humanitarian aid to Ukraine as its residents are involved in a fight for their existence, as they repel the advances of their encroaching neighbor.
The Selfreliance Foundation is grateful to the National Credit Union Foundation for recognizing our Foundation for the work it is doing.

Herb Wegner Award вважається найвищим визнанням у секторі кредитних спілок і відзначає установи та ініціативи, які продемонстрували суттєві покращення в локальних, національних або міжнародних системах кредитних спілок.
У нашому випадку заявка на цю високу нагороду базувалася на невтомних зусиллях Фундації у підтримці українських установ Діяспори та України. У 2023 році Фундація Самопоміч виділила $888,700 для підтримки важливих для українсько-американських інституцій. Ці кошти дали можливість масивно підтримати українців в Америці.
