Selfreliance FCU honors Ukrainian Clergy in New Jersey
Ukrainian Clergy in New Jersey churches located in cities where Selfreliance FCU has branches, were invited to attend a dinner hosted by the New Jersey Advisory Board of Selfreliance FCU. This is the first time that this long-standing Selfreliance FCU tradition of thanking Ukrainian clergy for their dedication to their parishes and the community was implemented in New Jersey.
Religious leaders from six Ukrainian Orthodox and Catholic churches attended the dinner, which was held at the Ukrainian American Cultural Center of New Jersey in Whippany on May 19, 2022.
Also attending the event were Peter Ilnycky, Selfreliance FCU Chief Operating Officer; Miroslav Shchurevich, Selfreliance FCU Vice President of Member Services and Consumer Lending; and Roman Hirniak, Esq., New Jersey Legal Counsel.
After dinner, Father Ivan Turyk, pastor of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Perth Amboy, presented Peter Ilnycky with a blessed Ukrainian wooden carved plate featuring the Last Supper.
The event took place on Vyshyvanka Day, and most participants wore embroidered shirts.
Українська Федеральна Кредитова Спілка “Самопоміч” цього року вперше вшанувала духовних провідників Українських Катольцьких і Православних парафій у Нью Джерзі, у місцевостях, де є філії Кредитівки. Зустріч, що відбулася 19 травня 2022 року в Українсько Американському Культурному Центрі Нью Джерзі, була зорганізована Дорадчою Радою УФКС “Самопоміч” Нью Джерзі. Присутніми були священики шести Українських Церков.
Присутніми також були Петро Ільницький і Мирослав Щуревич з Чікаґо та Роман Гірняк, Правний Дорадник “Самопомочі” в Нью Джерзі.
Отець Іван Турик, настоятель Української Католицької Парафії Вознесення Пречистої Діви Марії у Перт Амбой, вручив Петрові Ільницькому тарілку вирізьблену зображенням Святої Вечері.
Свято відбулося у День Вишиванки, так що більшіть присутніх були святково одягнені.
