Selfreliance FCU Clergy Gathering, December 2018
Clergy and spiritual leaders of the Ukrainian Churches gathered at Selfreliance Federal Credit Union for the traditional Christmas celebration on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. Participants included representatives of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate, Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the USA, Ukrainian Baptist Church and Ukrainian Christian Pentecostal Church. These annual Christmas gatherings have been taking place over 40 years, in recognition of the importance of our religious congregations as part of the greater cooperative family. President and CEO Bohdan Watral expressed his gratitude to the spiritual leaders for attending this evening’s festivities. Selfreliance FCU has adhered to its mission, from its founding in 1951, not only to enable each credit union member to achieve financial stability, but also to facilitate the growth of the Ukrainian Diaspora, maintaining our Ukrainian language, religious traditions and culture, and our community organizations. Традиційна “Різдвяна Зустріч” з духовними провідниками української громади Чікаґо та його передмість відбулась у середу, 12-го грудня 2018 року, у головному бюро УФКС “Самопоміч”. За святковою вечерею зібрались разом представники різних релігійних конфесій УГКЦ, УПЦ-КП, УПЦ у США, Української Баптиської та П’ятидесятницької церков. "Самопоміч" вже понад 40 років підтримує цю чудову традицію, мета якої – подякувати духовенству за їхню велику працю, що гуртує духовно нашу громаду. Президент Установи та Виконавчий Директор Богдан Ватраль подякував усім душпастирям за участь у спільній вечері. УФКС "Самопоміч" з 1951 року, від самих початків свого існування і до тепер, відчуває своїм обов’язком не тільки допомогти кожному членові "Самопомочі" здійснити свої економічні мрії, але й зберегти нашу рідну українську мову,культури, всебічно підтримуючи українські церковні, культурні та молодіжні організації.
