Changes to Your
USNEFCU Credit Card:

As part of the recent merger between Ukrainian Selfreliance New England Federal Credit Union and Selfreliance Federal Credit Union, all USNEFCU credit card holders will receive a new Selfreliance FCU Visa® Preferred Credit Card within the first two weeks of January 2025.

    Your new Selfreliance FCU credit card will arrive in a plain white envelope.

  • By January 30, 2025
    Please make your final payment for your current USNEFCU credit card online or in-branch by January 30, 2025. Payments will not be processed from January 31 to February 3, 2025, and any outstanding balances will transfer automatically.

    Download any credit card e-statements you’ll need, as they will no longer be accessible online after this date. The transaction history will not be transferred to the new digital banking system, so please ensure you download everything before the transition.

  • January 30, 2025
    Your current USNEFCU credit card will no longer work after this date.

  • February 1, 2025
    Activate your card by calling 800-631-3197 from your primary phone number and start enjoying all the enhanced features and benefits it offers. Update your recurring payments with the details of your NEW card.

    Services to review: home utilities, gym memberships, streaming services, online shopping accounts, meal delivery services, newspaper and magazine subscriptions, tollway account, cloud storage and software subscriptions.

  • Februray 1–February 3, 2025
    Branches in Wethersfield, New Britain, and Westfield will be temporarily closed.
    Digital Banking services will also be unavailable during this period.

  • February 4, 2025
    Enroll in Selfreliance FCU’s new Digital Banking to manage all your accounts and cards with one login, anytime, anywhere, and enjoy enhanced features and new possibilities.

    Starting February 4th, 2025, managing your accounts online will be easier than ever. To get started, you’ll need to enroll in the new Selfreliance Digital Banking platform and create a new login and password. Once enrolled, you’ll have one login to access both your digital banking and credit card accounts. Please note, your current credentials will not transfer. We are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for you!

Why am I receiving a new credit card?
As part of the recent merger between Ukrainian Selfreliance New England Federal Credit Union (USNEFCU) and Selfreliance Federal Credit Union, all USNEFCU credit card holders will receive a new Selfreliance FCU Visa® credit card. Your new card is expected to arrive in the mail within the first two weeks of January 2025 and will need to be activated on February 1, 2025.
When can I start using the new credit card?
Please activate and begin using your new card on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Refer to the sticker on your card for instructions on how to activate your new credit card.
Will my new credit card be delivered by mail?
Yes! If you’re unsure, please call us at 860-296-4714 or visit your closest branch to confirm that your mailing address and contact information are current.
What number should I call to activate my new credit card?
Starting on Saturday, February 1, 2025, activate your new card by calling 800-631-3197 from your primary phone number.
My existing card does not expire for a while. Can I continue using it until it expires?
No. Your existing card will not work after Thursday, January 30, 2025. You will receive a new card beforehand. Please make sure it is activated and ready for use on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
Do I need to make any adjustments if I've arranged for my credit card payments to be automatically deducted each month via ACH transfer?
Yes. To ensure there is no interruption in automated payments, contact your service provider (i.e., another bank or bill pay service) on or after Saturday, February 1, 2025, and provide your new credit card number and payment address.
Will my credit card number or CVV change?
Yes, your new Selfreliance FCU Visa® credit card will come with a different card number, expiration date, and CVV. After activation, please update any automatic payments with your new card information.

Will my interest rate change as part of this upgrade?
Yes, your interest rate will change. A new disclosure will be sent to all cardholders by mail. Please watch for updates in your mail and email. If you have any questions, contact us at 860-296-4714 or visit one of our branches.
What do I need to do if I have preauthorized, or recurring payments tied to my existing Selfreliance credit card?
To ensure there is no interruption in recurring or preauthorized payments (such as home utilities, gym memberships, streaming services, online shopping accounts, meal delivery services, newspaper and magazine subscriptions, tollway accounts, cloud storage, and software subscriptions), contact the merchant on or after Saturday, February 1, 2025, with your new card number, expiration date, and CVV code.

This is a great opportunity to review each subscription and consider whether it continues to serve your needs. If not, it might be a good idea to cancel it to save money!
Will the transaction history from my old card be transferred to my new card number if needed?
No. You will not be able to access past statements/history online as of Friday, January 30, 2025. Download any credit card e-statements you’ll need, as they will no longer be accessible online after this date.
Will the due date for my credit card payment change?
Yes, the due date for your credit card payment will change.
What should I do with my old credit card?
You should destroy the old card after you activate and start using your new card.
What if I didn’t receive a new credit card?
If you do not receive a new credit card by Saturday, February 1, 2025, please call us at 860-296-4714.
